Well, got my bloodwork results and as far as I can tell it’s fine except for really high cholesterol. Of course, I still have to wait until I see the doctor again and get a proper interpretation of the results. But that won’t be until the other week because the heart tests results won’t be done until midweek. With that in mind it’s too early to make final plans but I guess there are 2 likely “outcomes”:
One where I can work on my PC regularly.
One where I can’t work regularly on my PC (work on laptop instead)
Figured I’d let you know my thoughts about plans in those cases so you can get some idea of what to expect or if you want to give some feedback.
Working on PC Regularly
With this I mean I can at least work on my PC for about 4 hours daily or more at a decent pace. Preferably more, 4 would be pushing it. Less than that I don’t think I can make content in Daz fast enough to finish anything soon. On that note, due to my situation I’ll be focusing on shorter projects I can finish in a reasonable amount of time. I thought about projects fitting for this and the one I feel is best is… *drum roll*
The Bare Backrooms.

It was supposed to be a one week challenge game in RPGMaker that I had to drop. The original idea was to make a chasing/hiding RoR game but pathfinding in RPGMaker is atrocious. You can easily get NPCs stuck in corners and forget about them. I did find a code to improve it and make it work as I wanted but… the game lagged horribly. In the end I was forced to rethink the gameplay completely and didn’t had the time to do it. I have now and I did.
I did some brainstorming with Backrooms lore while considering what I can do in RPGMaker with normal eventing and plugins. Now I have a good idea for gameplay mechanics for a longer game than the original but still not too long (the original was meant to be very short). It also helps I already had a bit of the work made in Daz. Plus, just for the sake of finishing started projects.
Not Working on PC Regularly
If I can’t really work consistently for about 4 hours daily on my PC then I rather use that time in Daz/Blender for just working on comics/random renders, and use AI art for a game. I thought about using the much faster FilaToon render/shader instead but I just tested it a bit, can’t say I can get a good game with it yet. Plus, it’s still time used on that instead of comics, etc.
About the game, at first I thought about also making The Bare Backrooms but with AI art instead. After thinking it some more I rather not. First, I already have some art made in Daz for it. Second, making the art with Daz I will already need to take “artistic licenses” with the Backrooms lore. I feel that would be even truer with AI art.
So, what game I will make in this case? After thinking about it I feel the best option is another dropped project, The Tower of Lust.

That was my last attempt at making a game with my own drawings so, not only it was already made with a 2d anime-ish style in mind, it was made considering my limitations as a 2d artist. It was meant to be a simple BF (battle fuck) RPG. I already had pretty much the battle system in place, for the most part I just needed the art. I think. Need to check the game again. Though it was made on VX Ace so I’ll have to “port” it to MZ anyway. Still, feels like another opportunity to finish a started project and it’s also an “AI art friendly” kind of game.
Closing Thoughts
Keep in mind this isn’t final yet so, If you are reading this and have some feedback like short projects you’d prefer I make while I get better, I’m open to suggestions. Drop a comment here or if you prefer on Twitter. You can try Discord as well but I won’t be logging too often there these days. Also, just in case, if you are just going to tell me not to use AI because you are simply against it, just… don’t. As I’ve said, I’m not against it (if you haven’t you can’t read my opinion about it in another post here) and if I feel that’s my best option to make a game until I can work in Daz consistently, then I will do it.
Cya’!
