I suppose a good way to start my site is writing about what it’s going to be for and what’s currently going on with me and my projects.
About this Site
As you might know if you have been following me on Twiiter, I’m not a fan of it. I feel it’s meant for short span attention content. Even with the option to write long posts, I feel most people still don’t read them. I also doubt people read posts on sites like Slushe.
So, I thought “let’s make my own site” (with blackjack and hookers 😂). I figure someone going out of their way to visit me here might be more interested in more than the pics I post. Also, it serves me as a place where I can organize my “lore” for myself and anyone interested. Info about my characters, my world settings, game demos and so on. Basically a place where I can “consolidate” all my content. Also a plaice where I’ll be posting my thoughts on related stuff, like Daz, game making, art, etc. (After this post I’ll be writing one about a topic I have had in my mind for a while now)
Status Update
Ok, that’s it about the site, now the status update. First, yeah, I’m sorry about being AWOL. Things have been hectic in my “real life”. My mom has cataracts and getting blinder each day. It’s been a shitshow and just plain bad luck trying to get her the surgery for over a year now. As she is now I have to help her constantly, luckily it’s mostly minor stuff but still, it’s constant interruption.
On that note, I’ve been made aware of just how bad my current health situation is. I mean, I was aware it was bad, but I’m just the kind of person that doesn’t go to the doctor until there is absolutely no way around it, what some would say is “until it’s too late”. Right now I’m taking a bunch of tests to see just how bad it is, so I’ll have more info in a week or more (my tests might not be done early enough to get a doctor appointment for next week 🙄)
What I can tell you now is that this has also made me painfully aware that I just can’t really work on long term projects nor I can promise I’ll keep deadlines. At least until things get better. And this is just not compatible with subscription services where people expect their monthly content and so on. This is why I’ve decided to focus more on finishing short projects and just sell them when they are done.
Projects
I’ll still leave SubscribeStar and maybe Patreon up, but I want to be very clear those are meant for people who really want to support me. If you only want the stuff, it’s better if you wait until they are on itch and hopefully Steam. People supporting me on SS/Patreon will still get the finished stuff too, gonna have access to WIPs and if there is enough people I’ll start making polls but just keep in mind I won’t be setting hard deadlines and content most likely won’t be consistent. Also, content released on SS/Patreon will have passwords to avoid people getting in one month and cleaning up. Basically, I’m trying to keep it as fair as I can for supporters and for me.
I’m still brainstorming the projects in specific. Though I can say that after the first Tales of Athesea demo release it will be on pause indefinitely. That is one big project so unless in the unlikely event that the demo gets extremely popular or something like that, I’ll put it on hold in favor of short projects. I’ll finish the Resident Libido Episode 1 and post it freely because it was already more than half done anyway, but future comics will be sold, on itch I think, and I’m not sure if I’ll continue with Resident Libido as I think the IP might be a problem if I want to sell the finished comics. So, I’ll most likely focus more on original stuff like the Funsized Fables.
I know it’s probably not what some of you wanted… if anyone is actually still reading 😅… but I hope you can understand that despite me needing to do this for a living instead of a hobby I’m still trying to keep it fair for everybody.
Cya’ in the next article! (quite soon, I think)
